Harumo Sato's Puku Puku Bubbles, Ongoing Series

Though the river's current never fails, the water passing, moment by moment, is never the same. Where the current pools, bubbles form on the surface, bursting and disappearing as others rise to replace them, none lasting long. In this world, people and their dwelling places are like that, always changing.

Puku Puku is a Japanese onomatopoeia of water bubbling.

This ongoing series is inspired by an essay of Kenko Yoshida, a Japanese poet in 13-14c. "Though the river's current never fails, the water passing, moment by moment, is never the same. Where the current pools, bubbles form on the surface, bursting and disappearing as others rise to replace them, none lasting long. In this world, people and their dwelling places are like that, always changing." The series is an admiration and resentment of this constantly changing, unsettled, fragile, but beautiful world.
